Job summary

DREAM is seeking a Temporary (School Year 2026-2027) Middle School Assistant Dean of Culture for Mott Haven Middle School in the Bronx. The role focuses on building positive school culture, supervising scholars, inputting culture data, and supporting the Dean’s Office to improve student outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, have experience with adolescents in schools, and are familiar with restorative practices. English/Spanish bilingual skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Experience working directly with adolescents in a school setting.
• Experience using responsive classroom or restorative practices preferred.
• Special education degree or training preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Strong sense of urgency to raise student achievement.
• Ability to communicate high expectations for student learning and behavior.

Responsibilities

• Monitor class transitions, lunch, recess, and in-school discipline procedures.
• Supervise after-school reflection program and culture initiatives.
• Input school culture data into information systems; log and track discipline paperwork.
• Facilitate community building and restorative circles; respond to student crises.
• Communicate with families about school response to misbehavior and investigations.
• Support implementation of school-wide behavior systems and routines.
