Job summary

Synergy Fiber is seeking a Temporary Low-Voltage Technician to support a commercial construction project in Madison, WI. This role assists with the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling and low-voltage systems while ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

We welcome applications from both experienced technicians and individuals interested in starting a career in the low-voltage trade, with overtime as needed and a valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with structured cabling and low-voltage systems is preferred but not required.
  • Candidates of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • OSHA 10 or BICSI knowledge, data center or fiber splicing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Pull, route, and secure CAT5e/CAT6 cabling in commercial environments.
  • Build and organize telecommunications rooms and equipment closets.
  • Install cable support systems (tray, ladder tray, J-hooks).
  • Install and terminate structured cabling, fiber optic, and coaxial systems.
  • Install low-voltage systems (security, CCTV cabling).
  • Terminate RJ45 connectors, outlets, and patch panels.
  • Test and troubleshoot copper, coaxial, and fiber cabling.
  • Maintain a safe, clean job site.
  • Follow project specs, standards, and safety procedures.
