Cabarrus County Schools is seeking a 26/27 English Teacher for a temporary position at Mt. Pleasant High in Mount Pleasant, NC. The role starts immediately, reporting to the Principal.

The teacher will develop lessons, manage the classroom, differentiate instruction, assess students, and communicate with families per district standards. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Education and NC licensure or eligibility, with familiarity in NC Standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an approved education program in subject area.
• Strong background in North Carolina Course of Study/Common Core and Essential Standards.
• NC Teaching License or qualifications to obtain one.

• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials with effective teaching strategies.
• Maintains classroom management and addresses learning and behavior issues.
• Differentiates instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
• Evaluates student progress using multiple assessments and provides feedback.
• Communicates with parents in a timely manner and maintains collaboration with staff and community.
• Upholds district policies and health and safety procedures.
• Participates in staff development and departmental meetings.
• Remains current in subject knowledge and learning theory.
