Job summary

BPR Consulting Group LLC is seeking an experienced Code Enforcement Officer to support municipal clients on a temporary 3–4 month assignment. The role involves enforcing local codes related to zoning, property maintenance, building safety, and signage, with field inspections and corrective actions as needed.

The ideal candidate will have certification in code enforcement (ICC or state agency) and PC 832 training, plus strong investigative, communication, and case-management skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in code enforcement or related public-facing role.
• Knowledge of local zoning, building codes, and property maintenance regulations.
• Ability to interpret and apply codes and regulations accurately.
• Proficient in documenting inspections, notices, and enforcement actions.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reports of code violations related to property maintenance, zoning, and signage.
• Conduct field inspections of residential, commercial, and public properties.
• Issue notices of violation and other enforcement actions as needed.
• Educate owners, tenants, and businesses about code requirements and compliance methods.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, violations, and actions.
• Prepare and present cases in hearings or court when necessary.
• Collaborate with city departments, law enforcement, and legal counsel.
• Respond to public inquiries about code procedures and ordinances.
• Monitor compliance deadlines and abatement progress.
