Job summary

Pro Staff is hiring a Buyer for a temporary opportunity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will source materials, manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure production teams have required resources.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in purchasing within manufacturing, ERP/MRP experience (Epicor a plus), and strong Excel and analytical/communication skills to support cost-saving and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or buyer experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using ERP or MRP systems; Epicor experience is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong negotiation, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase raw materials, components, and production supplies from approved vendors.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, delivery schedules, and payment terms to support cost-saving initiatives.
• Create and manage purchase orders while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
• Monitor supplier performance, quality standards, lead times, and on-time delivery metrics.
• Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to align purchasing activities with manufacturing schedules.
• Analyze market trends, supplier data, and purchasing reports to support strategic procurement decisions.
• Resolve issues involving shortages, delays, or non-conforming materials.
