Job summary

Advantage Technical seeks an experienced Buyer for a temporary role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will source materials, manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and create purchase orders to support production schedules.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in purchasing, ERP/MRP experience (Epicor a plus), advanced Excel skills, and proven negotiation and analytical abilities. Strong communication and multitasking skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
• 5+ years in purchasing/procurement in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of supply chain, inventory control, and production planning.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems; Epicor a plus.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office proficiency.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase raw materials, components, and production supplies from approved vendors.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, delivery schedules, and payment terms to support cost-saving initiatives.
• Create and manage purchase orders while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
• Monitor supplier performance, quality standards, lead times, and on-time delivery metrics.
• Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to align purchasing activities with manufacturing schedules.
• Analyze market trends, supplier data, and purchasing reports to support strategic procurement decisions.
• Resolve issues involving shortages, delays, or non-conforming materials.
