Job summary

Kendo Holdings is seeking a Temp Associate Creative Director for Ole Henriksen in downtown San Francisco, a hybrid contract role. You will translate creative strategy into a distinct aesthetic, directing visual identity and campaign expression while pairing with the head of copy.

You’ll lead five designers and ensure quality from concept to delivery. The role requires leading by example in a beauty/lifestyle context, managing a small team, and collaborating across channels including social.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of design and art direction experience with a beauty or lifestyle portfolio.
• Ability to hold a distinct brand visual world and voice across campaigns.
• Experience producing social-first campaigns on Meta, TikTok, and YouTube.
• Strong understanding of native-to-platform art direction.
• Experience in a creative pairing model with a copy partner.
• Strong campaign concepting skills to generate original territories.
• Comfort working as both director and individual contributor.
• Visual merchandising design experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

Kendo Holdings is seeking a Temp Associate Creative Director for Ole Henriksen (OH), supporting visual creative direction and brand vision across campaigns. This contract hybrid role is based in downtown San Francisco and offers an hourly salary range of $61.00 to $73.00, with Tues through Thursday in-office and Monday and Friday remote.

You will translate overarching creative strategy into a distinct, consistent aesthetic for OH, working closely in a creative pairing with the head of copy. You will also manage a design team of five designers, aligning concept, execution, and campaign quality from early territory through final delivery.

What you’ll do

• Lead Ole Henriksen creative direction, including visual identity, campaign concepting, and brand expression across all touchpoints
• Develop creative concepts for all Ole campaign moments, from initial territory through execution brief (major and minor moments)
• Provide art direction for campaign shoots, including shot lists, casting direction, and set and prop direction in partnership with the Sr. CD
• Collaborate with the head of copy on joint concepting, shared briefing, and aligned delivery
• Ensure campaign execution quality by confirming all design output across the execution layer meets the creative brief
• Manage three direct reports, providing feedback and creative direction to their work

• Ability to produce work that resonates on social platforms including Meta, TikTok, and YouTube

• Strong campaign concepting skills, able to generate original creative territories (not only execute briefs)
