Mercor is seeking experienced Telugu Linguistic Experts to contribute to a cutting-edge AI research project in collaboration with a leading research lab. You will evaluate LLM Telugu outputs and curate high-quality Telugu data to improve model understanding and generation capabilities.

The role requires native or near-native Telugu fluency, translation/editing/Linguistic annotation experience, and a keen eye for linguistic nuances.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native Telugu with strong grammar and style.
• Professional experience in translation, editing, linguistic annotation, or NLP data work in Telugu.
• Solid understanding of linguistic nuances and regional variations.
• Interest in AI and LLM-driven language technologies (preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot subtle errors.
• Clear communication and ability to work in distributed remote teams.

Responsibilities

Mercor is seeking experienced Telugu Linguistic Experts to join a cutting-edge AI research project in partnership with a leading research lab. This role centers on evaluating how effectively a large language model (LLM) performs in Telugu-language tasks and on curating high-quality Telugu linguistic data to train and improve the model's understanding and generation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate the quality and accuracy of LLM-generated Telugu text across various use cases (e.g., translation, summarization, dialogue, grammar correction).
• Edit, refine, or rewrite Telugu content to meet linguistic and cultural standards.
• Annotate Telugu text for grammatical, syntactic, and semantic features.
• Identify model errors and language gaps, and collaborate with AI researchers to improve LLM performance.
• Provide detailed linguistic feedback and analysis to guide ongoing model training efforts.

You're a strong fit if you have:

• Native or near-native fluency in Telugu, with excellent command over grammar, syntax, and stylistics.
• Professional experience in translation, editing, linguistic annotation, or NLP data work in Telugu.
• Strong understanding of linguistic nuances, regional variations, and context-appropriate usage.
