SummaryThe Teller position is part of the Retail Team, the team that is the “face” of AVB Bank. Our Tellers don’t have sales quotas intended to pressure customers into other bank products. Instead, we REWARD our team members for providing outstanding customer service and for knowing when customers can benefit from services we offer.Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide prompt and courteous service to customersComply with dual control and security proceduresAccept retail and commercial checking and savings depositsAccept and process cash depositsAccept and process coin deposits using coin counterMove bagged coins to the vault or designated secure areaComplete work with a high level of accuracy and in a timely mannerProcess withdrawals and cash checks up to designated limitsHelp prepare currency and bags of coins for fed shipment; Accept currency and boxed coins from Fed shipmentAssure compliance with all applicable bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulationsAcquire and maintain knowledge about the importance, requirements of, and procedures for completing Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and Regulation CC holdsAccept loan payments of all typesSell cashiers checks and money ordersProcess cash advances on credit/debit cardsKnow when to report suspicious transactions, activity, or situations to appropriate personnelAcquire and maintain comprehensive product knowledgePromote and cross sell bank products and services, refer customers to appropriate staff for new products and services.Secondary ResponsibilitiesParticipate in community service: attend bank functions within the community, interact with customers to create a community relationship, identify opportunities for new businessTravel to other AVB Bank branches for coverage as neededMinimum RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalentTwo years cash handling and customer service experienceBasic math, reading and writing, and computer skills are requiredPhysical RequirementsTime spent standing: 5-8 hours dailyLift (weight): 50 pounds Frequency: as necessaryMotion: Bend, Sit, Squat, Reach, LiftFunctional Requirement: Visual Acuity, Audio Acuity, Manual Dexterity, Speak/Read/Write English, Ability to efficiently process data, discern patterns, and recognize inconsistencies in information.AVB is an EEO employer.
