Job summary

Central Bank is seeking a teller who primarily supports the teller line while being cross-trained to handle new accounts duties. You will assist customers with deposits, withdrawals, and payments, open and maintain accounts, and actively cross-sell bank products.

The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and superior customer service. Daily tasks include balancing cash, handling vault transactions, and adhering to Bank Secrecy Act requirements.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent; or high school senior student in cooperative education program.
• Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
• Basic math skills required.
• PC and typing skills required.
• Attention to detail required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Strong customer relations skills and ability to work with customers and employees in a cooperative, positive manner.
• Must possess good judgment skills and the ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to operate teller and office equipment including computers, calculators, telephones, and other devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily deposit services such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and related matters.
• Maintain cash drawer within prescribed limits and handle vault transactions as needed.
• Count, receive and disburse cash and handle currency.
• Verify and balance cash drawer daily and maintain over/short records.
• Prepare forms for Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements and obtain documentation.
• Learn and apply compliance and regulatory issues for teller and customer service areas.
• Understand and follow security procedures and post-robbery protocols.
• Maintain neat work area and secure cash and records.
• Deliver exemplary customer service and cross-sell bank products.
• Open new accounts and perform account maintenance requests.
• Participate in sales programs and STEP initiatives.
• Plan daily work to handle customer flow and processing.
• Know all bank products and services and attend training.
