GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Teller II conducts transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently while meeting or exceeding service quality standards. This position safeguards bank assets, contributes to the bank's growth by promoting and cross-selling bank products and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Receives cash, pays out cash, and handles negotiable items, loan payments, deposits, withdrawals, and transfers. (about 15%)
2. Sets up, closes, and balances teller station. (about 10%)
3. Records sales of monetary instruments. (about 10%)
4. Maintains neat and well-stocked teller area. (about 5%)
5. Cross-sells bank products and services. (about 5%)
6. Follows limits established for protection of customer accounts and bank safety. (about 5%)
7. Adheres to bank policies and procedures. (about 10%)
8. Assists with balancing Vault, ATM, Night Drop, and Coin Machine. (as needed)
9. Assists with proper scanning of bank documents and proof work. (as needed)
10. Exercises judgment when applying holds and making check cashing decisions. (daily)
11. Cross-trains to open basic new consumer accounts. (as needed)
12. Adheres to work schedule; must be flexible. (about 10%)
13. Maintains positive, friendly, professional attitude and appearance. (about 5%)
14. Lifts coin bags up to 50 lbs. (as needed)
15. May work at alternative locations within the region or market. (as needed)
16. Works in a constant state of alertness and safety. (daily)
17. Completes required BSA/AML and other compliance training quarterly.
18. Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Requirements include:

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED, with emphasis on office/shop skills, plus 12-18 months related experience or training, or equivalent combination.

Communication Skills

Effective in person and small group communication with customers, clients, the public, and employees.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic arithmetic with money and measurement.

Critical Thinking Skills

Use common sense to follow simple instructions and handle standardized situations with limited variables.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Not required.

Software Skills

Basic skills in 10-Key, spreadsheets, and word processing.

Working Conditions

Periodic exposure to noise, standing, walking, pushing, carrying, or lifting. Noise level is usually moderate.
