Job summary

Whitefish Credit Union in Whitefish, MT, is seeking a Teller I to be the first contact for Members seeking withdrawal, deposit, and payment services. You will balance cash drawers, verify identities, and assist management as needed.

The role requires strong math skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team while following all procedures and policies. On-site position with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6-12 months of professional customer service experience preferred.
• 6-12 months of professional banking or credit union experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create positive relationships with Members and greet them by name when possible.
• Balance currency, coin, and checks at ends of shifts and record daily transactions.
• Follow check handling procedures to validate negotiability of checks.
• Enter Members' transactions into computers and issue receipts.
• Verify Members' identity before providing information or performing transactions.
• Discuss loan balances, interest calculations and dividend rates with Members.
• Maintain general knowledge of Whitefish Credit Union's products and promotions.
• Count currency, coins and checks and prepare for processing.
• Identify and resolve transaction mistakes per procedures.
• Support vault operations and count cash with accuracy.
• Receive and count daily cash inventories and obtain Canadian exchange rates when needed.
• Assist other departments with EFT wires and loan paperwork as required.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled; perform other duties as assigned.
