Job summary

Heartland Credit Union seeks a Teller for our brand new Wichita branch at 21st & Rock Rd. The ideal candidate enjoys customer service and sales, with training provided to support growth in financial services.

Must be available to work 36–40 hours weekly, with no evenings or Sundays. Responsibilities include greeting members, handling deposits and withdrawals, balancing cash, and promoting credit union products.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior customer service and cash handling experience preferred.
• Experience in a financial institution is helpful but not required.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Well organized with attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, assist with branch services, and guide to staff as needed.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, checks, money orders, and cash advances.
• Verify cash totals and balance daily transactions.
• Educate members on credit union products and services.
• Balance ATM machines and coin counters accurately and timely.
• Provide excellent member service and participate in training sessions.

WORK DETAILS

Teller position

This person will work from our new branch located at 2191 N. Rock Rd!

Hours

Must be available to work 36-40 hours, from 7:45a.m. - 5:45p.m. Monday - Thursday, 7:45 a.m. - 6:15 p.m. Friday and 8:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. on Saturdays. Will work rotating Saturdays.

NO Evenings or Sundays!!

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greets customers entering the branch, directs them to the correct staff member for assistance and provides assistance with ATM usage, coin counting machine, safety deposit boxes and other branch services.
• Responsible for providing excellent customer service while performing a variety of paying and receiving functions including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashiers' checks, money orders, and cash advances.
• Verifies cash totals and balances each day's transactions.
• Educate members of credit union products and services.
• Balances ATM machines, coin counters, and cash dispensing/recycling machines in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensures members are promptly and professionally served.
• Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
• Provides superior service to our members.
• Proactively support and advance HCU's brand platform.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous customer service and cash handling experience preferred.
• Experience working in a financial institution is helpful but not required.
• Proficient with technology and variety of software including MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Well organized and attentive to detail
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to move 30 lbs. occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. frequently.
• Stationary for extended periods of time.
