Teller

Location: Main Office, Canandaigua, NY

Responsibilities

A Teller accepts deposits, cashes checks, balances a cash drawer accurately and efficiently, and serves as the face of the bank. The role also includes building, growing, and retaining customer relationships, providing quality customer service through friendly and courteous interaction, and making recommendations for competitive banking options based on customer needs. Tellers are on the front lines of fraud and risk management, receiving education and training to comply with regulations, bank policies, and procedures while identifying potential fraud.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school equivalency.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with a PC and Microsoft Office or similar programs.
  • Strong customer service and sales experience.
  • Cash handling skills.
First Year Expectations
  • Complete the 90‑day Teller training program.
  • Demonstrate impeccable dependability for all scheduled shifts.
  • Make qualified customer referrals as part of the Retail Referral program.
  • Become proficient in all relevant banking systems and retail banking products.
  • Maintain minimal transaction errors.
Hours and Schedule

Full‑time: 40 hours per week for the first three months. Part‑time schedule begins after completion of the initial 90‑day program.

  • Monday–Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:15 PM
  • Saturday/Sunday (two Saturdays required per month): 8:30 AM – 12:15 PM
Compensation

$20 per hour.
