Job Description

Northwest Tellers are important members of our retail network team because they often have the most interaction with our customers. They provide excellent customer service by welcoming customers, processing transactions efficiently, resolving problems, providing educational services, and uncovering financial needs for referral to the appropriate line of business.

Description

Northwest Tellers are key members of our retail team, engaging directly with customers to deliver exceptional service. They handle transactions, assist with inquiries, and identify opportunities for financial referrals.

Essential Functions
  1. Achieve financial wellness activity goals, such as identifying referral opportunities and contributing to sales performance.
  2. Assist customers with questions, resolve problems, and inform them about products/services, referring complex issues to colleagues.
  3. Greet customers proactively and take ownership of resolving issues or concerns.
  4. Balance cash drawer daily and participate in meetings, vault and ATM balancing, and other operational tasks.
  5. Deliver the North(west) star experience and promote financial wellness through excellent customer service in person, over the phone, and via email.
  6. Uphold our 5 Culture Promises.
  7. Complete and engage in educational training and self-education programs.
  8. Maintain knowledge of all office systems, bank products, services, and digital offerings.
  9. Adhere to security and dual control procedures.
  10. Participate in branch opening and closing tasks as needed.
  11. Follow compliance, risk, and operational procedures to protect the bank.
  12. Work collaboratively with team members, demonstrating professionalism and support for management.
  13. Work evening hours and weekends as scheduled.
  14. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
  15. Utilize Microsoft Office and department-specific software to enhance efficiency.
  16. Collaborate with colleagues and operate on-site equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  1. Establish effective working relationships and participate in problem-solving and decision-making.
  2. Communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  3. Actively listen and share information to facilitate open exchange.
  4. Set goals, monitor progress, and use resources effectively.
  5. Exercise good judgment and make sound decisions.
  6. Possess knowledge of computers and teller systems.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the individual must meet the following requirements:

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Experience
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Banking and/or retail experience preferred.
