Teller - Job Description
Position Summary
The Teller is responsible for providing exceptional member service while accurately processing financial transactions. This role serves as a primary point of contact for members, handling routine banking needs, promoting financial products and services, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet members promptly and courteously, creating a positive and professional experience
- Process a variety of financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and check cashing
- Balance cash drawers and maintain accurate transaction records
- Identify and respond to member needs by recommending appropriate products and services
- Educate members on account features, digital banking tools, and available financial solutions
- Maintain confidentiality and security of member information
- Detect and prevent fraudulent transactions by following established procedures
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Resolve member inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with opening, maintaining, and closing accounts as needed
- Support branch operations, including administrative tasks and team initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous cash handling and/or customer service experience preferred
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with computers and standard office software
