Job summary

BANK OF COMMERCE is seeking a bank teller to deliver excellent customer service and efficient, accurate transactions in a fast-paced environment. The role includes processing deposits, withdrawals, checks, and transfers while maintaining a balanced cash drawer and confidentiality.

Rotating Saturdays may be required; basic math and computer skills are essential. Previous teller experience is preferred, with high school diploma or GED required or equivalent.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and accurate transaction processing.
• Balance cash drawer and maintain confidentiality with all information.

• Answer inquiries and assist with ordering, receiving, verifying and distributing cash; may assist with opening/closing.

Job description

Shift includes: Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00pm; Rotating Saturdays 9am - 12pmBank tellers are responsible for providing exceptional customer service including efficient and accurate transaction processing. Tellers process and record routing transactions for bank customers including cashing checks, accepting deposits and withdrawals, processing loan payments and money transfers. Promote and advise on the bank's products and services.Accept retail and/or commercial deposits, loan payments, process checking and savings withdrawalsCash checksMaintain an adequate cash drawer at all times; this includes buying and selling currency from the vault as necessaryBalance cash drawer in accordance with Bank procedures and regulations including periodic batching of cashed checksProcess credit card cash advancesAssist in ordering, receiving, verifying, and distributing cashAnswer customer inquiries and refer customers to the proper service are for issues that cannot be resolved at the teller lineProviding additional products including cashier's checks, personal money ordersMay be responsible for bank opening and/or closingMaintains the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtainedPromotes the bank's products and servicesRepresent the Bank in a manner that maintains and expands positive relations with customers, potential customers and co-workersPerform as a team member in allocating and coordinating the work flowContribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goalsComply with all department and company policies, procedures and regulationsOther duties as assignedExcellent customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact and diplomacy in dealing with both customers and employeesMathematical skillsStrong communication and organizational skillsDetail oriented, high degree of accuracyCompetence with computers, telephones, 10-key calculator and other office machineryAbility to work in a fast-paced environment & under pressure as neededAbility to make sound decisions.Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED equivalent preferredPrevious teller experience preferred but not required.
