Job summary

Five Points Bank in Nebraska is seeking a friendly Teller/Personal Banker to provide excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. You will handle cash, balance cash, open accounts, explain bank services, and assist customers in a team environment.

This full-time, hourly position includes varying hours Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays. Training and growth opportunities are provided in a community-focused bank.

Responsibilities

• Receive cash and checks for deposits; verify amounts and endorsements.
• Balance cash against records at start/end of shift.
• Open new accounts and explain bank services to customers.
• Process deposits and payments; issue receipts and money orders.
• Assist customers with account openings and product information.
• Greet customers and refer to appropriate bank personnel.
• Maintain cash cabinets and verify currency authenticity.

Position: Teller/Personal BankerDepartment: TellerSupervisor: Branch Manager/AVP Retail Banking ManagerJob Description: The teller will provide excellent customer service while efficiently and accurately processing transactions, handling currency, accepting payments, verifying funds and explaining bank products while working in a team environment. Assist Customer by opening accountsEssential Functions:Receives cash and checks for deposit, verifies amounts, and looks for check endorsements. Examines cash carefully to guard against acceptance of counterfeit bills.Cash checks for customers after verifying identification and checking account balances in accordance with bank policyOpen New Account productsEnters transactions into computer and issues customer receiptsBalance cash against computer records at beginning and ending of shiftIssue cashier’s checks, personal money orders, and gift cardsRedeem savings bonds for customers onlyExplains bank services and charges to customersObserves suspicious behavior and report any such activityAssists customers in opening accounts and general customer serviceBalance coin machine, vault balancing including cash sales and money orderingProcess deposits and payment transactions through back counterProcess the renting, accessing and closing of safe deposit boxesGreet and refer customers to appropriate bank personnel to meet their financial needs.All other duties as assignedKnowledge & Experience:Excellent Customer Service skillsPrior banking experience is preferred.Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Communication Skills – The ability to communicate effectivelyMathematics – using mathematics to solve problemsProblem Solving Skills – The ability to find resolution to problems in an efficient, practical mannerTime Management – managing one’s own time and the time of others within the groupAdministrative skills – basic computer skills including 10 key experienceEducation/Training: High School Diploma (GED or High School Equivalence Certificate).
