Job summary

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) seeks a Transportation Planning Manager to lead statewide mapping and data projects that shape transportation decisions. You will work with advanced geospatial tools and a skilled team to support long-range planning across the Commonwealth.

You will manage geospatial, cartographic, and planning activities, guide plan development, oversee staff, and collaborate with stakeholders to advance transportation planning initiatives.

Qualifications

• One year as Transportation Planning Supervisor or equivalent.
• One year as Transportation Planning Specialist 2 or equivalent.
• Three years of professional transportation planning with a relevant bachelor's degree.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must meet PA residency requirements.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Plan management for statewide/metropolitan plans using geospatial analyses.
• Staff leadership of planning specialists.
• Geospatial oversight for maps, graphics, and spatial data.
• Data coordination for transportation layers and boundary information.
• Technology evaluation of geospatial tools to support planning.
• Stakeholder collaboration through committees and task forces.
