Job summary

The State of Minnesota is seeking an Agency Human Resources Director to provide strategic HR leadership for the Department of Human Services (DHS). This executive role directs HR programs including classification, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, HRIS, labor relations, and workforce planning while aligning with statewide DEI goals.

Ideal candidates will have extensive management experience in public sector HR, strong knowledge of labor laws, and a track record of building

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of managerial or supervisor experience in Human Resources (HR) that includes directing multiple professional HR staff
• Experience with federal and state employment and labor laws (FLSA, ADA, FMLA EEO, USERRA) including complex contract interpretations
• Administering collective bargaining agreements
• Managing a full range human resources department (talent acquisition, compensation, HRIS, workers’ compensation, etc.)
• Providing management consultation on complex HR issues
• Must be able to receive and maintain delegation of authority for HR work in compensation, classification, selection, and labor relations
