About the Opportunity
ServCorp (SCx) is seeking professional and dependable Telephone Operators to support a fast-paced communications environment.
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who can manage multiple calls, route information accurately, respond appropriately to urgent situations, and provide professional customer service. Candidates should be comfortable working with telephone and communication systems and maintaining composure during high-volume or emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and process incoming telephone calls professionally and efficiently.
- Route calls and information accurately to the appropriate destination.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to callers.
- Operate telephone, communication, paging, and related systems.
- Process routine and priority communications.
- Respond appropriately to urgent and emergency communications.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation.
- Assist with information and directory updates.
- Monitor and report communication-system issues when identified.
- Follow established procedures for emergency and high-priority situations.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and callers.
- Maintain professionalism when dealing with difficult, distressed, or upset callers.
- Follow applicable safety, privacy, security, and company requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- This position is essential during emergencies and may be required to remain on duty until properly relieved.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of professional call-center, telephone operator, customer-service, communications, or related experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful or emergency situations.
- Experience using computerized telephone, communication, or customer-service systems.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office or comparable applications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record and communicate information.
- Ability to work on-site in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Willingness to work assigned shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and federal holidays.
- Ability to successfully complete applicable background, security, and facility-access requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hospital, healthcare, medical communications, or telephone operator experience.
- Experience with telephone consoles or centralized communications systems.
- Experience with paging systems or emergency communications.
- Experience with Cisco Finesse, Cisco Jabber, or comparable systems.
- Experience handling emergency calls, alarms, urgent notifications, or crisis communications.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, privacy, confidentiality, or healthcare information-security practices.
- Experience working in a high-volume call-center environment.
