Job summary

Salinas Valley Health is seeking a Unit Assistant II for Telemetry to monitor cardiac rhythms and support clerical duties on the unit. You will operate at the Central Monitoring Station, print rhythm strips, and maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and timely escalation per policy.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of EKG rhythm recognition, and preferred experience in acute care. There are shift differentials and a 0.9 FTE for day shifts in a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Attend EKG Rhythm recognition class and pass exam upon hire.
• Maintains competency annually by passing recognition test with 80%.
• One year experience in an acute care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry patient’s rhythm, BP, SpO2 and RR.
• Print rhythm strips every 4 hours; print for RN review on critical alarms.
• Maintain and organize patient records and department paperwork.
• Assist with ordering and stocking department supplies.
• Communicate effectively to ensure patient safety and teamwork.
