Job summary

Salinas Valley Health is seeking a Unit Assistant II for the Telemetry Heart Center on a per diem basis in Salinas, CA. You will monitor telemetry, print rhythm strips, and maintain patient records while supporting unit operations and encouraging teamwork.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, completion of EKG Rhythm recognition, and CPR/clinical credentials. Union NUHW. The position involves variable shifts and on-site work.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of the EKG Rhythm recognition course and test.
• Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors telemetry patient’s cardiac rhythm, blood pressure, SpO2, and respiratory rate on telemetry/cardiac monitoring.
• Prints rhythm strips every 4 hours for RN interpretation and for critical red alarms.
• Maintains patient records and assists with department supplies.
• Communicates effectively to escalate concerns per policy and maintain safety.
