Job summary

Salinas Valley Health is recruiting Unit Assistant II staff for the 1M Telemetry unit. The role includes monitoring telemetry patients at the Central Monitoring Station, handling clerical duties for patient records, and supporting the nursing team on a day shift.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of EKG rhythm recognition, and preferred experience in acute care or CNA/MA programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Attend and pass the EKG Rhythm recognition course and test.
• Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry patients at the Central Monitoring Station and recognize rhythm abnormalities.
• Print rhythm strips every 4 hours for RN interpretation.
• Maintain patient records and assist with clerical duties on the unit.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
• Assist with ordering and maintaining department supplies; ensure a safe, clean environment.
• Float as needed within unit groupings per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
