Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Telemetry Technician for part-time night shifts (7pm–7am) with every other weekend. The role involves monitoring telemetry Data collection and ensuring quality ECG readings, with tasks including electrode placement, skin prep, and artifact management.

• Obtains and documents ECG readings as directed.
• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
• Identifies and corrects artifacts.
• Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
• Maintains ECG equipment and supplies.
• Candidates must complete the CDH Monitor Technician Exam prior to interview.

Job Description

Part Time Nights, 7pm-7am withevery other weekend.

The Telemetry Technician reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Performs telemetry monitoring to provide data for the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Obtains and documents ECG readings as directed.
• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.

• Successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework” to “Candidates must successfully complete the required CDH Monitor Technician Exam prior to the interview. The exam includes multiple-choice questions as well as cardiac rhythm measurement and interpretation.”
