Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician to observe, interpret and communicate cardiac rhythms for cardiology patients under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include analyzing ECG rhythms, maintaining continuous ECG monitoring during transport, cleaning telemetry equipment, and reporting changes to the RN. The role also covers central station and bedside monitor operation, alarm management, and related duties.

Qualifications

• Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia training course upon hire is required.
• CPR – American Heart Association certification required.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate required.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate required.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately analyzes, interprets and records ECG rhythms according to procedure.
• Maintains continuous assessment of ECG rhythm at central monitor and during patient transport; identifies changes and reports to the RN as appropriate.
• Cleans and maintains telemetry monitors/holders and accounts for monitor upon patient discharge.
• Demonstrates knowledge of central station and bedside monitors; ensures alarms are maintained at appropriate levels and settings.
• Performs other unit specific duties such as video monitoring, order entry and answering phones.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
