Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician to support cardiology patients by continuously observing, interpreting, and recording ECG rhythms under RN supervision. You will report changes and maintain central monitors during patient transport.

Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining telemetry equipment, understanding central and bedside monitors, managing alarms, and performing duties such as video monitoring, order entry, and phone coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training or completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia training course on hire.
• Preferred EMS, CMA diploma/training/experience.

Responsibilities

• Accurately analyzes, interprets and records ECG rhythms according to procedure.
• Maintains continuous assessment of ECG rhythm at central monitor and during patient transport.
• Cleans and maintains the telemetry monitors/holders and accounts for monitor upon patient discharge.
• Demonstrates knowledge of central station and bedside monitors. Ensures alarms are maintained at appropriate levels and settings.
• Performs other unit specific duties such as video monitoring, order entry and answering phones.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
