Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks an ECG telemetry monitor technician to observe and interpret cardiac rhythms for cardiology patients under RN supervision. You will document rhythms, monitor during transport, and coordinate with the care team.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and basic dysrhythmia training; EMS/CMA qualifications are a plus. Shifts include days, evenings, nights and weekends, with a permanent position and rotating 8-hour hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum High school diploma or GED; or 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia training course upon hire.
• Preferred EMS, CMA diploma/training/experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, interprets and records ECG rhythms according to procedure.
• Maintains continuous assessment of ECG rhythm at central monitor and during transport; reports changes to RN.
• Cleans and maintains telemetry monitors/holders and accounts for monitor upon discharge.
• Manages central station and bedside monitors; ensures alarms are at proper levels and settings.
• Performs unit-specific duties such as video monitoring, order entry, and answering phones.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
