As a Telemetry Technician, you will monitor and record heart rhythms, recognize changes, and coordinate with nurses and physicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Licenses: EMT, EMT-P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA preferred; RN rotation acceptable.
• BLS required; Cardiac Telemetry certification within 1 year; Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record heart rhythms for telemetry patients.
• Identify rhythm changes and alert nurses or physicians as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment and reduce false alarms.
• Apply technical skills to interpret complex rhythm patterns.
• Provide care for patients of all ages.

Schedule & Location

• Full‑time, days shift
• Position in Galax, VA

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate: $15.27 – $18.86 p/hr.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and records heart rhythms for patients receiving telemetry cardiac monitoring.
• Recognizes changes in rate, rhythm, or pattern, records the changes, and contacts a nurse or physician if necessary.
• Troubleshoots equipment and identifies false alarms.
• Applies technical skills to identify complex heart rhythm patterns.
• Works with patients across all age groups, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Required Education & Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Licenses: EMT, EMT‑P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA preferred; completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing degree program (ADN or BSN) acceptable.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Cardiac Telemetry certification within 1 year of hire; completion of a Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course.
