UNC Health Nash invites passionate healthcare professionals to join our team serving Nash, Edgecombe, Halifax, Wilson Counties and beyond. This full-time Nursing Assistant I role provides routine direct and indirect patient care under supervision, in hospital, clinic, or home health settings.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, patient orientation, vitals, basic care, and ensuring safety and support for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Nursing Assistant I certification (NC) required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies during emergencies.
• Aids patients in reality orientation and participates in behavior modification plans and informal support therapy in psychiatric settings.
• Observe, collect, and document patient information and report significant changes to nurses or physicians.
• Assist patients and families during admissions, orientation, and discharge from the clinical area.
• Provide care/treatments per plan of care: vitals, specimen collection, wound care, ROM, and activities of daily living.
• Provide direct personal care for activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation).
• Perform indirect care: clean/stock area, transport, orient new staff, and assist with routine clerical tasks.
• Reinforce patient education and distribute educational materials as requested.
