Job summary

Prime Healthcare St. Marys Hospital in Kankakee, IL, is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time night shifts (3-12 hour shifts, 5:00pm–5:30am) in the Medical Surgical department. The role delivers safe patient care, supports patient/family teaching, and collaborates with the care team in a Telemetry unit.

Required RN license, BLS, ACLS within 30 days, and preferred RN-BC or BSN; acute care and ventilator experience are pluses. Sign-on bonus available; Total Rewards package offered.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse delivers safe patient care using the nursing process in Telemetry Unit.
• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicates changes in patient condition to physicians including cardiac monitoring and test results.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
