Job summary

Frederick Health Hospital, Inc.’s 33-bed adult and geriatric telemetry unit provides continuous cardiac monitoring for patients with cardiac conditions, stroke, renal disorders and post-surgical needs. The team delivers patient-centered, collaborative care with physicians, therapists, pharmacists and care management.

The unit offers part-time night shifts (2 × 12-hour shifts, 7p–7:30a) with weekend/holiday rotation, NIH stroke certification and advanced life support training, plus Magnet

Qualifications

• Assess biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care and discharge planning per nursing standards.
• Identify patient needs and priorities; document and communicate changes.
• Provide initial and ongoing assessments and revise plans of care as needed.
• Demonstrate professional nursing responsibilities and adhere to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Independently provides patient care using the nursing process.
• Documents nursing interventions and patient responses accurately.
• Communicates with the health care team in a concise, timely manner.
• Participates in continuous quality improvement activities.
• Incorporates discharge planning and patient education into care.
• Floats to other nursing units as needed to meet patient care demands.
