Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide safe patient care in the Telemetry Unit, following the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

You will assess and respond to changes in patient condition, educate patients and families, and coordinate with physicians regarding diagnostics and treatment. The role is part-time with night shifts, offering a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• RN-BC or similar certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and guide patient/family teaching.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in patient condition and diagnostic results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
