Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks a registered nurse to join the 7A telemetry/general medicine unit at University Hospital. The role focuses on complex internal medicine patients requiring telemetry monitoring with Medicine Faculty Hospitalist as the admitting service.

Responsibilities include direct supervision of unlicensed staff, bedside reporting, hourly rounding and a comprehensive orientation. Hours are 36/week with day/night rotator shifts and every other weekend, with potential hybrid work

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license required.
• GN applicants considered; NCLEX must be passed within 45 days for Michigan RN licensure.
• BSN preferred.
• Telemetry experience preferred.
• 3-5 years experience with adult internal medicine/MFH patients.
• Leadership roles such as charge nurse or preceptor valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on 7A Telemetry/General Medicine unit.
• Supervise unlicensed personnel.
• Conduct bedside reporting and hourly rounding as standard practice.
• Participate in orientation and staff development.
• Operate within shift rotations and 36-hour weekly schedule.
