Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a registered nurse to coordinate care for monitored patients in the telemetry unit during hospital stays, including cardiac monitoring and evidence-based practice. The RN will apply the nursing process, ensure patient safety and privacy, and maintain dignity while delivering high-quality care in accordance with state and hospital standards.

The role requires Michigan nursing license, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and strong communication with patients,

Position Summary

The registered nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care for monitored patients during their hospital stay including cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic stabilization, responsive to emergent situations and care of evidence-based medicine patients. The registered nurse ensures that quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Michigan Department of Public Health, the medical center and nursing department standards. Utilizing the nursing process, functions primarily in direct patient care. The registered nurse participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment, maintains patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality and respects patient’s rights.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Performs purposeful hourly rounding including: Pain, Position, Personal needs and Possessions
• Applies the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge needs of patient/family
• Provides professional direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical telemetry setting

Required

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Must possess valid State of Michigan Nursing License
• BLS certified
• ACLS certified within 6 months of hire
• Possesses excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate and present self to patient, visitors, other staff and physicians verbally and in writing in courteous, confident and professional manner

Preferred

• Previous experience in acute care center
• Telemetry experience
• BSN in Nursing
• Completed and certified (up to date) in Basic Arrhythmia
