Job summary

Oneida Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to deliver direct patient care in collaboration with the RN, with telemetry and EKG experience. The role supports the Charge Nurse, maintains a safe environment, and assists with patient education.

Responsibilities include careful observation, accurate documentation, basic patient care under supervision, and clerical tasks. Strong communication and a customer-service approach are essential to support patients and families in a busy hospital unit.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred).
• BLS/CPR certification (Preferred).
• Nursing Assistant: 1 year (Preferred).
• Monitor Tech: 1 year (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Careful observation and accurate documentation of patient information.
• Basic patient care tasks under the direction of the Charge Nurse.
• Excellent communication skills, routing messages to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintaining a safe and healthy environment for patients in accordance with hospital standards.
• Using a customer service attitude when assisting patients and families with their needs.
• Performing ward clerk and clerical tasks as required.
• Maintaining equipment and performing routine cleaning tasks.
• Assisting RN with patient educational needs.
