Responsibilities

• Participates in patient care under nurse supervision; collects specimens and records data on flow sheets.
• Performs venipuncture, EKGs, and telemetry readings; reports findings to nurses.
• Collects patient data and documents it on designated forms.
• Collects specimens or sends them to laboratory per hospital policy.
• Attends to patients' environmental needs and provides comfort as directed by nurse.
• Participates in Quality Assurance activities as directed by nurse.
• Orientates patient and family to unit; provides copies of Patients' Bill of Rights.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support unit functioning and patient care.
