Job summary

Unity-Hospital-of-Rochester is seeking a Technician to provide direct or indirect patient care under a licensed nurse’s plan. The role includes assisting with meals, hygiene, mobility, and routine clinical duties under RN supervision in a busy Telemetry Med Surg unit at Unity Hospital.

The ideal candidate holds an Associates degree with CNA or Nursing Fundamentals preferred, and demonstrates excellent customer service and communication skills in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Associates degree is required.
• Nursing Fundamentals or CNA certification strongly preferred or one year experience as a medical assistant/technician.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills are highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Clean and stock patient rooms, prepare rooms for admissions.
• Provide safe, competent care addressing nutrition, skin integrity, elimination and hygiene needs.
• Perform clinical duties under RN supervision (vital signs, pulse oximetry, EKG, admissions/discharges).
• Collect and dispose of specimens as directed.
• Demonstrate clear communication, compassion and professionalism.
