Job summary

Allegheny General Hospital’s 5A Telemetry Observation unit is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to provide rapid assessment, treatment, and monitoring for patients with acute medical conditions. The role involves shift rotations, weekend/holiday coverage per policy, and union participation.

The unit serves patients with chest pain, TIAs, trauma, and altered mental status, acting as a CDU/Observation Unit bridging ED and inpatient care.

Qualifications

• Active PA RN license or multi-state licensure through eNLC
• Current Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning.
• Provides safe and effective care for the age population served.
• Directs and manages patient care delivery by the team.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
