Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL, is seeking a Nursing Assistant for a 36-hour week day shift, with every other weekend and rotating holidays. This full-time role supports RNs in delivering patient care and requires BLS and Nurse Aide registry eligibility.

You will assist with daily patient care, document vital signs in the EMR, help with admissions and transfers, collect specimens, maintain supplies, and uphold infection prevention standards in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation as directed.
• Measures and documents vital signs, intake/output, daily weights, and other patient data in EMR.
• Performs rounding under RN direction and communicates observations to the RN.
• Participates in admission/transfer/discharge processes and room setup.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing with proper labeling.
• Maintains stock, cleans equipment, and runs errands as directed.
• Assists with patient positioning and safe transfers and supports nutrition needs.
• Maintains skin integrity and manages patient supplies including TED hose and other devices.
• Adheres to infection prevention policies and age-specific care requirements.
