Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a clinical nurse to join the team in Orange, CA. The role collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a group of patients and to advocate for their needs across the continuum of care.

You will evaluate outcomes, revise plans, and serve as a mentor to students and new nurses. Shifts include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, with a focus on professional nursing standards and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent inpatient clinical nursing experience in adult acute care.
• Minimum 1 year telemetry experience or completion of EKG class.
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Internal UC candidate with 2+ years of UC service and ADN with BSN in progress.
• Ability to work variable shifts and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a group of patients.
• Assess, plan, intervene and advocate for the patient throughout the continuum of care.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and readiness for discharge and revise plans as needed.
• Serve as a role model and mentor to students and nurses new to the unit.
• Function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested by supervisor/manager.
