Job summary

UCI Health, the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine, seeks a clinical nurse to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans for a specific patient group. You will assess, intervene and advocate for patients throughout their continuum of care and mentor students and new nurses.

The role requires 2+ years inpatient nursing in adult acute care, 1 year telemetry, and a BSN for external candidates.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years recent inpatient clinical nursing experience in adult acute care.
Minimum of 1 year telemetry experience or completion of EKG class.
External candidates must have a BSN; internal candidates may have ADN with progression.
Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English; strong communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for assigned patients.
Assess, plan, intervene and advocate for patients throughout the continuum of care.
Evaluate outcomes, adjust plans and refer as needed; mentor students and new staff.
Functions as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested.
