Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join our interdisciplinary team and care for a defined patient population across the continuum of care.

You will assess, plan, intervene and advocate for patients, evaluate outcomes, and support discharge planning while mentoring students and new staff on the unit. Requires CA RN license, BSN, and telemetry experience; shifts include evenings, nights, weekends, holidays; float between Orange and Irvine campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Current California RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital experience.
• NRP, PALS certifications per unit assignment.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to float between Orange and Irvine campuses.
• Telemetry Experience (2 years)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and readiness for discharge; revise plan as necessary.
• Act as a role model and mentor to students and new nurses on the unit.
• Function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested by supervisor/manager.
