Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Patient Care Associate for the Nursing 9e Telemetry unit at Mount Sinai Morningside. This full-time night shift (11pm–7am) includes rotating weekends and provides patient‑centered support under RN supervision.

You will assist with activities of daily living, collect specimens, take vital signs, help with procedures, transport patients and specimens, and ensure a safe, clean environment. Excellent English communication and teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a medical assistant/patient care assistant program or equivalent.
• Effective communication and teamwork with the Specialty Service.
• Documentation of Medical Assistant/Patient Care Associate training.
• 1-9 months healthcare experience preferred.
• English language proficiency for clear communication.
• AHA Heartsaver/BLS certification required.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care and activities of daily living.
• Take and record vitals and document data.
• Assist with dietary tasks and meal delivery.
• Transport patients and specimens as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe patient environment and equipment.
• Respond to patient call system and communicate effectively.
