Job summary

Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA is hiring a part-time Monitor Technician to observe, interpret, and document EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients. You will detect deviations from the patient’s norm and communicate findings to the care team.

Two 12-hour shifts per week are required, with rotating weekends and holidays. A high school diploma is required, and completion of a monitor technician program is needed within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification/licensure.
• Completion of monitor technician surveillance program required on hire or within 90 days.
• Basic understanding of cardiac monitoring or EKG strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Observe, recognize, interpret, evaluate and document EKG tracings on telemetry patients.
• Identify deviations from patient norms and report to clinical staff.
• Support monitor tech orientation requirements and competency assessments.
