Job summary

Avem Health Partners in Stroud Hospital - Stroud, OK 74079 is seeking an experienced Monitor Technician/Unit Secretary. You will monitor cardiac rhythms, maintain rhythm strip records, and coordinate communication between patients and clinicians in a fast-paced telemetry unit.

The role requires a GED/HS diploma, at least 1 year of healthcare-related experience (or training), and current BLS certification. Day shift, full-time; safety-sensitive duties apply.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• One (1) year experience performing work related to patient care in a healthcare setting, six (6) months of which must have included experience as a monitor technician OR successful completion of a training program OR an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the patient once nursing staff have attached patient to the telemetry unit.
• Check for accurate date/time printout on rhythm strips.
• Provide daily printings of each patient’s rhythm strip.
• Maintain appropriate alarm settings for each patient.
• Assist in troubleshooting monitor equipment.
• Alert staff when a patient is in crisis.
• Admit new patients and code telemetry charges into computer system.
• Maintain supplies for monitor area.
• Assist with orientation/cross-training of new personnel on the unit.
• Answer phones and call lights.
• Schedule appointments as needed.
• Admit new patients and code telemetry charges into the computer system.
• Assist with general clerical duties as needed.
• Provide immediate information to nursing personnel of change in cardiac monitor status.

Education
