Job summary

Orlando Health, Inc. is seeking a Monitor Tech to support continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation. The role requires ensuring accurate rhythm analysis, proper lead placement, and timely communication with nursing staff to maintain patient safety.

The position emphasizes adherence to escalation protocols, ongoing skills development, and strict compliance with hospital policies and patient privacy guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have ECG competency assessment completed.
• Six months of related experience preferred or willingness to complete Orlando Health ECG course and Rhythm Test within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and review patient information to determine baseline cardiac rhythm.
• Demonstrate competency in telemetry lead placement for accurate rhythm analysis.
• Analyze cardiac rhythm and record measurements, calculations, and interpretations per protocol.
• Notify RN of rhythm or component changes and follow escalation protocol.
• Maintain knowledge of central monitoring station operations and alarm settings.
• Assist in initiation and discontinuation of telemetry with nursing staff.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical issues with telemetry systems.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies.
• Attend mandatory education and participate in performance improvement activities.
