Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of telemetry or EKG interpretation course during orientation period required.
• 0-2 years of clerical and/or clinical experience in a medical setting required.

Responsibilities

• Continuously observes telemetry monitors and records rhythm strips at established intervals.
• Identifies rhythm changes and notifies nurse or licensed personnel promptly.
• Maintains effective communication with peers, staff, physicians, and leaders.
• Troubleshoots and resolves issues with monitoring equipment; escalate as directed.
• Organizes and tracks monitoring equipment for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Ensures proper lead placement and electrode application for optimal monitoring.
