Job summary
The Monitor Technician role at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences involves 24/7 telemetry monitoring within the Telemetry department, supporting inpatient care across disciplines. Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 1 year direct patient care experience.
- Current certification or competency in EKG acquisition.
- PCT certification within 3 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor patients’ cardiac rhythms and telemetry readings.
- Identify abnormal rhythms, arrhythmias, and significant rhythm changes.
- Notify nursing staff of critical or abnormal findings promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of monitored rhythms and events.
- Perform rhythm strips and provide them to clinical staff as required.
- Monitor multiple patients simultaneously with close attention to condition.
