Job summary

Valley Presbyterian Hospital in California is seeking a Monitor Technician to support patient monitoring, clerical operations, and departmental workflow on-site. You will monitor telemetry, print rhythm strips, notify rapid response teams, admit/update/discharge patients in the central monitoring system, and perform limited admin duties.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms for patients on telemetry and report abnormalities immediately to nursing staff.
• Print and document rhythm strips per hospital policy and during emergencies.
• Notify Rapid Response or Code Blue teams as appropriate based on patient cardiac rhythms.
• Accurately admit, update, and discharge patients in the central monitoring system.
• Observe telemetry monitors during patient transport as directed by the Registered Nurse.
• Assist with clerical duties including Meditech data entry, filing, answering telephones, and call lights.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Support unit operations by maintaining supplies, forms, and manuals.
• Assist with indirect patient care duties including transportation and discharge support
